The DriveLast weekend we headed north to Sudbury for Lyse & Todd's Jack & Jill. Not wanting to wait until Saturday morning to do the drive, we decided to head up Friday around 11pm (after my shift).
Unfortunately the normally 4 hour trip turned into an 8 hour nightmare. About 30 minutes south of Sudbury the rain turned to snow. The highway became almost invisible and we had to pull over for a few minutes. The snow didn't subside, but a few transports passed by so I decided to follow in their tracks.
It was hard to keep up to them even in these conditions and more transports came up behind us. I let them go by and we eventually were following behind a convoy of 12 or more. Again I felt they were going much too fast for the conditions. The snow was coming at the car in a tunnel like fashion which was making us both dizzy.

It wasn't too long after we tucked behind the convoy that the 2 lane highway (69) came to a complete stop. We waited about 20 minutes in the same spot before I decided to get out and talk to the driver of the transport ahead of us. It turns out a few of his 'buddies' ended up off the road and they had to be pulled out.
Anyway, we sat there for almost 4 hours in the same spot before things got moving again. Thank god for Sirius to keep us somewhat entertained.
So, we rolled into Mum's place at 7am - just in time for a nap.
Saturday Night
The Jack & Jill was a blast. I finally got to meet the rest of Lyse' family and they kept the night VERY entertaining. Lyse is nuts and her brother Guy was just as crazy (or more) as her. I can see him and I getting into some trouble on the cruise. Her parents were a riot to hang out with.

We had a lot to drink and were treated to a lot of GOOD food! Todd's 'nuthuggers' were the talk of the night... [EDIT] (we'll leave it at that).
Anyway guys we're excited about the cruise and it's only 2 months away!!! Thanks for a great time up there!!!
